Our Process
Patience, Precision, and Permanence
We believe a butcher block should last a lifetime, and that requires time, meticulous care, and an unwavering commitment to quality. We start at the source, hand-selecting and slow-seasoning every piece of lumber to create a stable foundation that can handle moisture.

The Foundation
We believe that a great block starts with a simple walk in the woods. Just like my Dad and I did years ago, we still hand-select and harvest the perfect trees ourselves. Then, instead of rushing, we give every piece of lumber a long, slow rest in our custom kiln—sometimes for months. This patient, old-school drying process is what trains the wood to handle water and humidity, guaranteeing a perfectly stable foundation that won't warp or fail when it lands in your kitchen.

The Artisan's Eye
When it's time to build, we treat every block like a unique work of art. We meticulously hand-select and place each strip of wood, not just for structure, but for its individual beauty. We love preserving the natural character—the knots, the sap lines, and the spalting—that other makers throw away. This artisan-focused approach ensures that the butcher block you receive is truly one-of-a-kind, built by hand right here in the USA to be a conversation piece for your home.

The Durability Guarantee
Our secret weapon for lasting quality is a tedious but vital step we call Precision Grain Raising. Since a butcher block will get wet, we intentionally water-pop, dry, and sand it repeatedly until the wood's grain simply refuses to rise anymore. This guarantees your block stays perfectly smooth forever, no matter how often you use and wash it. After a final inspection, we bathe it in oil and ship it out, starting its final acclimation journey from our home to yours.
